An affirmation is traditionally considered a single positive statement of potential truth like "I accept change" or "I accept others for what they are". These types of affirmations are very real and very good in affecting a change in your mind. That's what affirmations are all about, to created positive thoughts and statements of truth in your mind.

Every action is preceded by a thought whether that thought is positive or negative. The more an affirmation is repeated the better your mind will be in thinking positive which means you will behave in a more positive way which will make you happier.

While many accept the affirmation process of self help, there are other opinions on how the affirmation works.  The type of affirmation that promotes is any positive affirmations like the positive affirmation discussed in the first paragraph. But Positive affirmations in there theory includes positive quotes, positive scriptures or motivating statements and  positive musical lyrics.

The idea behind their perspective of positive affirmations is that anything you put in your mind on a regular daily basis can influence positive response in your life.

Many people refuse to try the positive affirmation process of self improvement because it is so simple. Others have tried it and felt that other than a little positive motivation, there was no permanent results. You took years to get where you are today and it takes time to create a change.  Zig Ziglar made an on point statement "People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing - that's why we recommend it daily."
