What are Positive Affirmations?

What are Positive Affirmations?
As the use positve affirmations has grown and become quite popular the definition has elvolved. The original definition from a self help persepctive of a positive affirmation is a positive statement of truth used to help someone replace negative thought with self affirming positive thoughts.

As people started learning about these concepts they started to realize and rightfully so that more than just positive affirmations can achieve a similar result. For example, positive quotes, scriptures, faith promoting stories and music can all be a form of a positive affirmation.

The key to determining if any of these affirmational activities qualifies as a true "positive affirmation" is do they fill you with positive feelings? Do they help to push out the negative feelings? Are these positive affirmations inspirational? If the answer is yes you've got yourself a nice affirmation.

Affirmations can be repeated over and over daily. Which makes then more effective. Proper and positive meditation can be a form of a positive affirmation. The whole point here is that we can feel better and be better, more whole and complete if we have more positive than negative thoughts, feelings or issues in our mind.
