Above and Beyond Positive Affirmations

ABOVE AND BEYOND POSITIVE DAILY AFFIRMATIONS

Anyone who has studied the concepts of positive affirmations knows the power they have. This post has no desire to dispute that statement. But there is more to success and positive attitudes that repeating powerful positive affirmations.

The last post published yesterday talked about the limitations of affirmations. We tend follow the concept of Christian based affirmation philosophy.

Some people believe in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Some believe in a "higher power" others call it the Universe. Most people believe in some form of God.

When we find ourselves in a situation where the traditional affirmations seem to have stopped working or we find ourselve in a place where there are no good affirmations that is when we turn to that God who gave us life. We humble ourselves and ask for guidence. The quest for seeking after Gods help must be done with submissiveness or humility and a commitment to following the promptings we recieve.

This reminds me of a little story, you may have heard it differently but that concept is the same.

There was a man who found himself in a deep hole filling with water. He needed help. He prayed asking for help. A while later someone came along and threw done a rope and yelled down to him "grab hold and climb out". The man in the hole say no thanks, help is on the way. A while later someone came along and dropped a ladder down and said climb up. The reply was the same, no thanks. Help is on the way. The man drowned and when he met with God he asked why didn't you helped me after I prayed for help. The Lords reply was, I did, twice.

When we turn to the God who gave us life for help we must keep our minds open and be willing to take the help He is willing to offer.

I'm also of the opinion that one of the ways the Lord helps us is by using a positive mental attitude to deal with the tough parts of life. Positive daily affirmations can certainly make that come true.
