Celtic Crosses

Celtic Crosses

Sterling silver Celtic crosses and Irish crosses make artistic Celtic cross necklaces for men and Celtic cross necklace for women. Some would argue that Irish crosses and Celtic crosses are one in the same and others would argue they are the same with different names.

I agree with both sides. Let me explain why. Here is a Celtic cross:

This is a very basic Celtic cross and fairly authentic looking. A Celtic cross has a simple definition, a cross with a circle around the intersection of the cross. If you take the circle away you seldom have a Celtic cross but you can add other icons and symbols to the cross.

Now look at what many would consider to be an Irish cross:

What would make this an Irish cross pendant is the presence of a Claddagh symbol in the form of the circle. But also notice that there a Celtic knots on the end caps. With few exceptions, the Irish crosses are always mixed with Celtic crosses.

With these wonderful Irish Celtic crosses wonderful Celtic cross necklaces for women are made as well as Celtic cross necklaces for men.
