The Irish Claddagh symbol is so powerful that it serves many purposes in the world of jewelry. The Irish Claddagh consists of three symbols: Clasping handings, a Heart and a Crown. The hands are holding the heart with a crown on top of the heart.

The Irish Claddagh jewelry symbol is most popular, by a country mile, in the form or a ring. The Claddagh symbol is clearly Irish but many lump Irish jewelry and Celtic jewelry into one category. The symbolsim of the Claddagh makes for a fantastic Celtic Wedding Ring or Irish Friendship Rings.

Many of these Claddagh rings have enough sizes that they can be used as matching wedding bands, friendship rings or whatever use you like.
These sterling silver Irish Claddagh rings have amzing workmanship and detail.

Vintage Anniversary Rings
I found some from reliable sources other were anicdotal (sp). But It is true, very true that Claddagh rings are used by people of Celtic and Irish descent for promise rings, friendship rings, engagement and wedding rings.
I personally wear one for two reasons, I like the symbolism and I like to celebrate my Irish heritage. The stuff about where the heart oints and the symbolism of hand, heart and crown are true Irish culture.
