Sterling Silver Irish Celtic Crosses

Sterling Silver Irish Celtic Crosses

Traditional Christian crosses represent the all the virtues associated with Christianity. Crosses are the most popular symbol of Christianity, in fact, it's almost the exclusive symbol for Christianity as a whole. The Christian fish is an old but still sometimes used Christian symbol.

Celtic crosses are based on traditional crosses but add much more symbolism to the traditional Christian cross. The same is true for an Irish cross. In fact many consider Irish crosses the same as Celtic crosses.

This Celtic cross has Celtic knot work all around the Celtic circle in the center and all four arms of the Celtic cross. Celtic knot work typical represents eternity as the line interweaves throughout our life and eternity as one continuous flow.

There are some Irish crosses that have a distinct difference from Celtic crosses. Yet, for the most point they are very similar or the same.

Irish crosses have many elements that make them Irish Celtic crosses. The cross just above is Celtic in every way with one huge exception. That is the predominate Irish shamrock in the center. The clover or shamrock represents the Holy Trinity. Each leaf is one member of the Trinity.

This Irish Celtic cross necklace is similar to the above Celtic cross necklace. The exceptions are Celtic weave instead of Celtic knots. No Celtic circle but the Irish shamrock makes up for the circle.

This Irish Claddagh cross necklace has a delightful Claddagh symbol that artistically replaces the Celtic circle in the center of the cross. It also has trinity knots on the end caps.

The Celtic cross or Irish cross adds many additional symbols to the traditional cross necklace. Some of the additional symbols found on the Celtic cross are the Celtic knot, the Celtic trinity knot, Irish Claddagh and Irish clover or shamrock. They all add meaningful and inspirational icons to an already rich silver cross necklace.

This Celtic cross necklace is one of the most authentic Celtic crosses in the collection of Celtic cross necklaces. It has a blend of Celtic knots and Celtic weaves. It has a dot in the center but it is not really meant to be a Celtic circle. This type of Celtic cross was used on shields and is known as the Celtic Shield of protection.

Irish Celtic crosses are the essence of Celtic cross necklaces.
