Sterling Silver Peace Sign Jewelry

Sterling Silver Peace Sign Jewelry

The Peace Sign Pendant has been around since the 1960's. So that makes the Peace Sign Charms young when comparing it to other jewelry symbols. Does the Peace Sign deserve to be mentioned in the same class as the other icons? My answer is yes because of the staying power the peace sign symbol has had in jewelry.

The Peace Sign Necklace started in the 1960's showing up around their necks while participating in peace rallies and sit ins through out the country during the war protests.

The Peace Sign Necklaces were associated with hippies and rebellion. Peace sign necklaces were worn as a badge of honor with the hippies and war protestors.

During the 1960's and the 1970's peace sign jewelry was mainly made out of beaded jewelry and leather.  But since then Peace sign jewelry has eveloved into fine jewelry made with such precious metals as sterling silver and gold.

Then during the intervening years the Peace sign became a mainstream symbol of peace without the rebeliion or drug association. Peace Sign Jewelry started coming out in sterling silver and gold. This appealed to many people which keep the peace sign icon in fashion and in use with peace sign jewelry. Not only is sterling silver peace sign jewelry popular with the use of peace sign pendants and peace sign necklaces but the peace sign makes for a terrific pair of Peace Sign Earrings.

As the peace sign maintains its solid status in sterling silver jewelry, artisans have done more with the peace sign artistically by adding other elements to it.

Peace sign jewelry has been for decades and continues to be very much in style with the mainstream. The sterling silver peace sign necklace or peace sign earrings can be worn for any occasion ranging from a morning walk to an evening formal wear. Sterling silver is a brilliant looking precious metal and the silver color goes with everything and even though the color is neutral, silver is the most reflective of any other precious metal including gold.
