Celtic jewelry is a vast collections of Celtic geometric symbols and Celtic knotwork symbols. There were pagan symbols because the Celt's were a pagan people until they were conquered and Christian evolved upon them.

The Church wanted to dispose of all Celtic symbols in the process of their converstion to Christianity. The Celts wanted to hold unto their culture and there was friction there.

With time compromise occured and the first of the compromises was the adding of a Celtic styled circle around the Christian Cross. Soon the Christians adopted one of the Celtic peoples most popular symbles and called it the trinity knot.

The trinity knot is used by Christians to reflect the Godhead or Holy Trinity.

The Celtic Cross Necklace is bar far the biggest contribution the Celts made to Christianity. The Celtic cross necklace popularity is due partly to the artistic design and in part because the the overwhelming popularity of the Cross Necklace in general.
